You owe plenty, but you owe less than $250,000. You want to pay off your debts. You just can’t do it on the timetable that creditors pressure you to meet. We can craft a consumer proposal in our Edmonton office that restructures what you need to pay and when you need to pay it.
At Fox-Miles & Associates Inc. Licensed Insolvency Trustee, our qualified credit counsellors provide an initial, free consultation to new clients. We’ll go over what you owe and what you make. Then we’ll decide if it’s best for you to pay a portion of what you owe, to pay smaller portions over a longer period of time, or a combination of both of those options.
Once you and your credit counsellor have agreed to the best course of action, your credit counsellor drafts a consumer proposal and sends it to your debt collectors. This action alone legally prevents creditors from calling you and garnishing your wages. Debt collectors will have 45 days to accept or reject your consumer proposal. During that review period, creditors may request a meeting with you and your credit counsellor to discuss your consumer proposal.
